Biography: Jane Curran Pandell, founding principal of Pandell Law Firm, Inc., was a partner in a San Francisco law firm with offices in Northern and Southern California before forming her own firm in 1987. Jane has more than 30 years of experience representing product manufacturers, design and environmental professionals, consultants, owners, and brokers in disputes involving public and private works projects, complex construction defects, delays, the Americans with Disabilities Act, catastrophic injury and wrongful death, and copyright. Jane also consults clients in contract negotiations and fee claims, and provides loss prevention and risk management guidance. Her jury trial experience includes unanimous defense verdicts in products liability and professional malpractice litigation. Her appellate work includes issues of contract, construction law and legal ethics. Jane has successfully defended national corporations in complex multi-million dollar lawsuits and, in doing so, conducted expert and witness depositions throughout the United States. She has been an invited keynote speaker on mediation, trial strategies, and current legal issues impacting insurance defense lawyers at the Annual Meeting of California State Bar, and at annual meetings for national insurance and construction companies.

Jane is a member of the State Bar of California, its Litigation Section, the American Bar Association, the Tort and Insurance Practice Committee of the American Bar Association, and the Association of Defense Counsel. She is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Claims, all Federal District Courts, in California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in San Francisco and served as a law clerk in the Office of Staff Attorneys at the United Stated Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Jane was awarded a Bachelor of Arts with honors from California State University, Stanislaus, where she also attended graduate school in public administration and finance. She is a Judge Pro Tem and mediator in Contra Costa County Superior Court and is on the panel of mediators and alternative dispute resolution neutrals of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has earned the Martindale-Hubbell Preeminent AV rating and, since 2008, is listed in the Northern California Super Lawyers published in San Francisco Magazine and Law & Politics. Jane is on the U.C. Hastings Foundation Board of Directors, of which she served as President from 2006 through 2010.
